2025 New Year’s Resolution: Sleep Better

New Year, New Bedding!

If you’re shaking off 2024 and ready to reset, a new set of bedding and fresh sheets might feel like a clean start. Why do new sheets and bedding matter? And do they even matter?

According to the National Sleep Foundation, they do. “Having a solid night of sleep starts with a bedroom and bedtime routine designed for optimal sleep—all so you can wake up feeling well-rested and ready to take on the day.”

Many people know a good bedtime routine can help, and keeping the room dark is important. However, fewer people realize that the bedroom itself, particularly your bedding, can deeply impact your sleep.

Comfort is Everything
If your sheets are uncomfortable, getting old or threadbare, or simply just aren’t that super soft, you might be able to get a better night of rest in a new set of sheets. Especially sheets designed for extreme comfort and a super soft, silky feeling.

Hot Sleeper? You’re Not Alone
If you’re a hot sleeper, you know how frustrating it can be to get woken up feeling almost suffocated by your sheets and blankets. Temperature-regulating sheets and breathable bedding are a must.

The National Sleep Foundation says, “If you’re a hot or cold sleeper, find bedding that’s designed to help maintain your ideal temperature. Keep the room temperature cool, between 60 to 67 degrees. You may need to change your sheets or blankets to fit the weather and sleep comfortably.”

Creating a Comfy Sleep Environment
One of the National Sleep Foundation’s top tips for better, healthy sleep is to create a comfy sleep environment: “Add items to your bedroom that enhance sleep comfort. Invest in cozy bedding.”

How Do You Create the Right Sleep Environment?
Look for the right type of temperature-regulating sheets, along with a breathable comforter and duvet cover, to solve the problem. This comes down to material. Down alternative comforters are best for the hot sleeper.

As the Sleep Foundation says, “For a hot sleeper, a down alternative comforter is generally considered better than a down comforter, as down alternative tends to regulate temperature better and trap less heat, making it a more cooling option.”
